About the Chico Yo-Yo Company
The Chico Yo-Yo Company was formed in April 2009.
It is the combination of the talents of the three partners: Richy Nye, Bob Malowney, and Thad Winzenz. Thad is the designer of the yo-yo and is fully in charge of the playability. Richy is the nuts and bolt guy; he can get anything, really anything, made. Bob is all around batting clean-up when needed. The production is entirely in Chico, using local talent and equipment.
This company is not connected to the Royal-Chico Yo-Yo Co. later called the Royal Top Co. operated by Joe Radovan. They produced Royal and Chico models in the 1950′s. It is an interesting coincidence that many years later the town of Chico, California became the home of two yo-yo companies, and the National Yo-Yo Championships.
Thad is one of the few national yoyo masters on the planet and is the designer of the yoyo. His yo-yo skills are as good as anyones but he spends most of his time teaching kids or judging contests.
Bob has done more for the sport than anyone in the last Quarter century teaching anyone that wants to learn,hosting the National Yo-Yo Contest (1st sat of October every year) and preserving yoyo history by running the National Yo-Yo museum here in Chico Calif. free to anyone wishing to visit.
